CHRISTCHURCH.

June 23. The ploughing matches which had been discontinued in most districts are this year being generally revived. A new public hall is to be erected by a company in Christchurch capabable of holding 1100 persons. On Monday tbe beach was searched carefully for the purpose of finding bodies from the wreck of the Pakeha, but without success, and it is presumed that they have been buried in the sand.
