LONDON.
June 16. At the wool sale to-day 11,500 bales were catalogued. A firm demand was again experienced. In the House of Commons the first clauses of the Irish Land Bill, referring to the classification of tenants, which has been under discussion since the 81st ultimo, was passed through committee to-day. The consideration of the>econd clause of the bill has commenced. The Daily News to-day publishes a paragraph stating that the English Government has 6ent a communication to the United States Government calling attention to the present nature and extent of the Fenian movements in England, and requesting that stepe may be taken to prevent the operations of the Fenians in America. Telegrams are to hand from Panama reporting that there is considerable discontent and consequent disorganisation among the employees on the canal works, and that the same are thereby being seriously impeded. The news requires confirmation.
