THE PUKEHOU STATION STAND, TE AUTE.
[To tho Editor of, the Daily Telegrami.] Sir,—Can you explaiu wh}' that which has to be done, or is done, ia generally but partially done—seldom, if ever, do we see anything thoroughly done. How often we find a concession losing all its worth by being niggardly conceded; how often an accommodation granted because more or less useless, from some of its details not being carried out as they should be. In my case I beg leave to call the attention of the railway officials to the fact that at the Pukehou railway stand, Te Ante, there is no flag by which the engine driver can recognise the call for engine to stop for passengers. I have been there and missed my passage. I cannot attribute blame to tbe officials; had there been a flag I could have used it, and no doubt have been saved from much inconvenience. Cannot this requisite demand be supplied ? For the guards I must say tbey are obliging and helpful, and deseiving of praise for their invariable good temper.—l am, &c, In want or a Flag. Hastings, June 15, 1881.
