June 11. Badswork is scratched for the Canterbury Jockey Club Handicap.

Tbe well-known thoroughbred entire Perkin Warbeck died yesterday. A furious gale from the south-west, accompanied by heavy rain, commenced yesterday evening, and still continues. Large trees have been extensively damaged, and others have been blown down. The low-lying parts of the town are flooded. The rivers are very high, and some are overflowing their banks in places.
