NEW PLYMOUTH.
May 30
An effort was made last night to get the steamer Rowena off at Waitara, but she was found to be firmly embedded in the sand, and the attempt proved unsuccessful. She is high out of the water, and as she has settled down will probably not be got off for some time. She is not in a dangerous position.
