WELLINGTON.

May 27. At a meeting of the Harbor Board today, Mr Edgar Jones was appointed engineer and architect.

The Colonial Secretary replied that he saw no reason why the Act should not be brought into force here, aa it has done so much good in Christchurch. However, he thought it would be better to obtain the cost before proclaiming the Act, and he would obtain the information as to the cost immediately.
