Garrard, the " unemployed " agitator, has again broken out, and has commenced a fresh crusade. This time it is on Chinese immigration and its influence on the labor question. A cash-box robbery was perpetrated last night at tbe Observer office, tbe circumstances of which are almost identical with the robbery that occurred at the City Council offices. The proprietor of the Observer, Mr Rathbone, locked np his week's takings, £69, of which £25 was in cheques, at 5.30 p.m. intending to bank the money in the morning. On coming back to his office after tea, at 6.30, Mr Rathbone found the front and back doors open. The cash-box had been taken out and prized open with a chisel belonging to the premises. The cheques were left, but £49 in cash was stolen. There is no clue to the burglars who stole the £40 from the Observer office, and the existence of a band ot professional housebreakers is suspected.
