Government Gazette. , 1 NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTING A ROAI IN THE NOBSEWOOD SURVEY " , DISTRICT. * "fcTOTIOH Is hereby given that it is proposed, undei * ±1 the provisions of "The Public Works Act 1876," to execute a certain public work, to wit, th< construction of n road lying between the sevonty fourth mile-peg on the Wcllinerton-Napler Railwaj and the Seventy-Milo Bush Road, twelve mileß from Kopua, in the Norsewood Survey District, in the County of Waipawa, and for the purjioses of such public work the land described in tho Schedule hereto is required to be taken ; and notice is further given that the plan of the said road, and of the land so required to be taken, is deposited in the Public Works Offices at Kopua, in the Takapau Survey . District, and is there open for inspection : And notice is hereby given that ail persons affected by. the cxcIcution of tho said public work or by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said publtc work " or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in > writing, and send such writing, within forty days ' from the first publication of this notice, to the 1 Minister for Public Works, Wellington. Bounded—Generally southerly and easterly by lines, 615, 259, and 5492J links respectively ; westerly by Railway Reserve, 102 links ; generally northerly and westerly by lines, 3451£, 218, and 694 links respectively; north-easterly by Seventy-Mile Bush Road, 100 links to the commencing point. .... The soil is generally good, and suitable for agriculture, more or less covered with red aDd white pine and other timber; the land is nearly level with the exception of Sections 20 and 21, Block HI, which are broken and soil not so good. In Block VI, Section 16 is good flat agricultural land, lightly timbered; Section 17 similar land and soil with heavy bush; Sections 19,21, and 24 light bush, nearly fiat. TAKAPAU SURVEY DISTRICT. In Block V the ground is undulating; the soil light, and covered with forest chiefly red and white pine. ...Block VI is of a Bimilar character, except that there are small; quantities of totara mixed with other bush. Sec- \ tions 1 and 2, Block X, are good soil, but hilly..
