DEPARTURES.
April. 28-rGo-Ahead, s.s., for Wellington. 28—Rosult, s.s., for "Wairoa. Passengers— Miss Miller and 3 children, Mrs J. Gemmel.
The s.s. Kiwi, Captain James Campbell, anchored in the roadstead at 2 o'clock this morning, and was brought inside by the Pilot at 6.30 a.m. and moored at the breastwork, where she discharged her cargo during tho morning. She reports having left Wellington at 6 p.m. on Wednesday; arrived at Castle Point at 8 a.m. next day 5 landed passengers arid cargo, and left at 10.15 a.m., arriving here as above. Experienced a fresh S.E. wind with rain shortly after leaving Wellington up till 10 o'clock last night. She was unable to land cargo on the coast. She leaves for Gisboi-ne at about 6 o'clock to-night, taking 29 piles and a quantity of general cargo. She is to call hero on her way back to Wellington. The s.s. Go-Ahead, Capt. E. M. Dicker, left for Wellington nnd Lyttelton shortly after 6 o'clock last night, taking a full load of wool, tallow, and skins for transhipment to the barque Alastor, now loading in Wellington for London. The s.s. Bella, Capt. Green, returned from Waikari yesterday afternoon, having landed the whole of her cargo.
The three-masted schooner Mary Wadley cleared at the Custom House to-day for Westport in ballast, and will sail this afternoon.
The steamer Fairy, Captain Campbell, returned from Te Apiti at 9 o'clock last night, bringing about 60 empty sacks. The s.s. Result, Captain Baxter, steamed for Wairoa at 10 o'clock last night, taking several passengers and a good cargo. The Union Company's s.s. Rotorua, Captain J. Tozer, leaves Wellington at 3 o'clock this afternoon, with 25 tons of original cargo, and will arrive here to-morrow forenoon. Her advertised time of departure is 6 p.m. for Sydney via Northern ports. The b.s. Te Anau leaves Gisborne to-night, and will arrive here at daylight to-morrow, sailing again for Southern ports and Melbourne at 11 a.m.

The Merchant Shipping and Underwriter's Association report the arrival of the ships Wairoa from Wellington (sailed 28th December,) Lutterworth from Lyttelton /25.-J December), Waikato from Napier (21sfc December) Nelson from Port Chalmers (31st January). Arrived at New York, Oocola from Auckland (left January 11). Sydney, April 28. Sailed, Union Company's s.s. Ringarooma for Russell. (By Tbleqhaph.) WRECK OF THE S.S. TARARUA. InveeoaeGllJ., April 29. News has just reached town that the Union Company's s.s. Tararua has struck on the Otara or Waipapa reef, near the Toitois. All lives are safe at present. Tho vessel is close in shore. Dunedin, April 29. The s.s. Tararua has struck on the Otara leef, near the entrance to the Mataura reef. No particulars. The s.s. Hawea, with Mr Mills, and Captains Cameron and Russell, proceeds at four o'clock this afternoon to the scene of the wreck. The vessel is 35 miles from Wyndham, the nearest telegraph station. A sailor swam ashore with the news. The Tararua is insured for £14,000, £9,000 in liondon, and £5,000 by colonial offices.
Wellington, April 29. The ship Pareora, from London, is at tho heads.
