AUCKLAND.
April 19. Two slight earthquake shocks were felt on Saturday at Coromandel. Mrs Raynham, the wife of a settler in the Waikato was standing on the train platform to-day, when a jerk threw her off. She clung to the carriage, but was thrown clear of the track. When picked up the jawbone was found to be shattered, and her side injured. It is feared that she will not recover. A review of Volunteers took place yesterday at Te Awamulu. The following comprised the force in the camp: — Cavalry, 120 men ; Artillery, GO men and 2 guns; Navals, 2 guns and 110 men; infantry, 800 men. The weather was unpropitious. It rained all night and commenced again shortly after the beginning of the review. Four accidents occurred. A woman fell off the platform of the train at Hamilton and broke her jaw; a cadet named Hoyle got a severe cut; a Naval Brigade man named Healy fell off a horse and was injured ; and another man stumbled during the review and got hurt. The volunteers returned to town to-day.
