The case arises out of the uncompleted ealegof the Abottsford station, on the Taueru river, Wairarapa, by the late Mr J. Gilligan to Mr Iladfield, the fater of the accused, who, after making the purchase, attempted to draw out of it, an action being then brought aguiast him in the Supreme Court to compel him to carry out the contract, but through other causes he was however, subsequently obliged to relinquish the property.
