WANGANUI RACES.
(BY TELEGEPH.) Wanganui, March 10. For the first day of the Wanganui races there was splendid weather, and a great crowd was present. The course was in good order. The lawn presented a very pretty appearance, the ladies being fashionably attired. HURELH BACB, Of 75 soys., weight for age, 2£ miles. Scott's Lady Mary 1 Higgie's King Don 2 Grey Momus 3 Seven started. A magnificent race, the first two finishing the last half mile neck and neck. The race was won by half * head. Momus a bad third. Time, 4minß, 39secs. WANGANTJI DEBBY. Of 100 soys., !_■ miles. Howe's Blue Gown 1 Frivolity ... ••• ••• 2 Annuity 3 Ten started. A very pretty race. Won by a length. Time, 2mins 49f sees.
