Nelson, March 4. The weather was very fine yesterday. Sixth match, rifles, 200, 400, 500, and 600yar«3s, 7 shots eich, the attendance at commanding officer's parades to count up to 9 points. The following are the prizetakers in the order given:—Turner (Blenheim), 107; M'Leod (Thames), 106; Hoskins (Taranaki) and Paynter (Nelson), 103 each ; Watt, 102 ; Wilcocks (Clntha), 101 ; Anderson (Clutha), Sergt. Ballinger (Wellington), and Hutchinson (Dunedip), eaoh 100; Remington (Wanganui), Fowler (Waimea), Downie (Thames), Linstrora (Hokitika), and Smith (Greymouth), each 99; Neill (Wanganui), Sutton (Blenheim), A. Ricketts (Waimea), M'Kenzie (Blenheim), and Nutsfcrd, each 98. Seventh match, 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards, 7 shots each, carbines. Attendance at commanding officer's parades to count as points up to 9. The following are the prize-takers in the order given : —F. France (Wellington), 108; Armstrong (Thames), 103 ; M'Lean (Wanganui), T. Dixon (Wellington), and Gill (Thames), each 102; Cameron (Thames), H. Flood (Nelson), Payne (Thames'), Laird (Wanganui), and Thomas (Thames), each 98 ; Ingle (Wellington), 97. No. 8 match, for all members, at 300, 400, and 500 yards, seven shots at each range. The following are the prizetakers in the order:—Paynter (Nelson) and Weir (Thames), each 75 ; Hutchinson (Otago), Hoskin (Taranaki), Lieut. Ballinger (Wellington), and Rowlings (Nelson), each 75 ; A. Dixon (Wellington) 72; Cooper (Auckland), Crossman (Nelson), Somerville and Stitt (Wanganui) each 71 ; Burr (Wellington), Hunter (Waimea), France F. (Wellington), Ricketts (Waimea), Downie (Thames), Armstrong (Thames), Fowler (Waimea), Harding (Oamaru), and Anderson (Clutha), each 70; Turner (Blenheim), Brooks (Dunedin), Johnston, (Dunedin), Ellis (Nelson), Hazlett (Auckland), and Woolley (Thames), each 67. Payne also also takes Hobson's cup for the highest aggregate in matches one and eight, and also holds the Marlborough cup for this year as the winner of No. 8 match.
