WHEREAS it is proved that no Valuation List for the TAMUMU HIGHWAY District has been prepared, as required by " The Rating Act, 1876, " NOTICE is hereby given that I, the undersigned, HARRY EYRE KENNY, Judge of the Assessment Court for the said Highway District, have ap-.ointed ALEXANDER McHARDY, Esquire, to be the Valuer to make such valuation list, and I do further appoint THURSDAY, the 31st day of March, 1881, for the completion thereof; and I direct that the said List shall be open for public inspection at the School House at Tamumu, from the Ist day of April, 1881, to the 80th day of April, 1831, and that all objections thereto shall be delivered at the Court House, Waipawa, on or before the 31st day of May, 1881, addressed to (he Assessment Court; and I do further appoint a sitting of the said Assessment Court for the hearing of the said objections to be held at tho Court House, Waipawa, on FRIDAY, the 3rd day of June, 1881, at 10.30 o'clock aim. Napier, 20th Februaiy, 1881. BYE-LAW No. 20. A BYE-LAW TO REGULATE THE HOURS AT WHICH IT SHALL BE LAWFUL TO BATHE WITHIN THE BOROUGH OF NAPIER. Byelaw of the Council of the Borough of Napier, made under special order of the Baid Council, dated the sth day of Januaty, 1881, confirmed on the 2nd day of February, ISBI, and sealed with the common seal of the said Council the said 2nd day of February, 1881. In pursuance of Sub. Section (r) of Subdivision (4) of Clause 349 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," the" Council of the Borough of Napier ordain as follows :— 1. It shall not be lawful for any person to bathe within, or within one mile o£th.i boundaries of the Borough of Napier, except at tho following times and places, viz. :— (a). In the sea, extending from the Pilot Reserve at the Eastern Spit along the Sea Beach to the end of the Coote-road; between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 am. (i). In any other waters within, or within one mile of the boundaries of the Borough of Napier, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Provided that bathing shall be permitted at all hours in such waters (excepting tho sea), as may be not less than 300 yards from any public road. 2. Any person bathing in the sea, or in any river or other waters within, or within one mile from the boundaries of the said Borough, except at the times and places herein before respectively specified, shall be deemed guilty of an offence, and for every such offence shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding the sum of Five Pounds. 3.
