A BYE-LAW TO REGULATE THE HOURS AT WHICH IT SHALL BE LAWFUL TO BATHE WITHIN THE BOROUGH OF NAPIER. Byelaw of the Council of the Borough of Napier, made under special order of the said Council, dated the 6th day of January, 1881, confirmed on the 2nd day of February, 1881, and sealed with the common seal of the said Council the said 2nd day of February, 1881. In pursuance of Sub. Section (r) of Subdivision (4) of Clause 349 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," the; Council of the Borough of Napier ordain as follows :— 1. It shall not be lawful for any person to bathe within, or within one mile of bounderies of the Borough of Napier, except at the following times and places, viz. : — (a). In the sea, extending from the Pilot Reserve at the Eastern Spit along the Sea Beach to the end of the Coote-road; between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 am. (&). In any other waters within, or within one mile of the boundaries of the Borough of ; Napier, between the hours of 9 t> m and 7 a.m. Provided that bathing shall be permitted at all hours in such waters (excepting the sea), as mpy be not less than 300 ysrds from any public road. 2. Any person bathing in the aea, or in any river or other waters within, or within one mile from the boundaries of the said Borough, except at the times and places herein before respect; vely specified, shall be deemed guilty of an offence, and for every such offence shall be liable to a ponalty not exceeding the sum of Five Pounds. 3.
