February 18. Messrs Paramour, Collin9on, Harris, O. Haskell, W. Cranshaw, W. Parker, G. Millington, J. Hume, Spring, H. B. Morrison, and W. Morrison (Dipton), with John Leith (emergency) constitute the Otagointerprovincial cricket team. Several members of the Education Board yesterday appeared greatly astonished at the statistics furnished by Mr Fulton, M.H.R., showing the extravagant expenditure on school buildings, etc., in the Auckland district at the expense of Otago. The statement of the hon. gentleman was endorsed by figures. One of the members ot the Board, who had recently made a tour through the colony, stated that in the Auckland education district the'cost of management for 1879 was 5s per scholar, against Bjd in Otago. The Forbury Park Company have agreed to Bell their right to a new company with a capital ot £40,000. It is iatended to lay out the grouads for
cricket and athMics; to offer sixty acres to the suburban municipalities as a recreation ground, and to improve the re»t of the park.
