The remaining business at the Wesleyan Conference on Thursday was as follows :—lt was resolved that when a travelling preacher was so unacceptable or inefficient to be no longer useful the Conference might ask bim to request a location, and on refusal that the Conference at its first meeting thereafter should, without trial, locate him without his consent. It was agreed that a book of discipline be provided by the General Conference suitable for tbe people, and other resolutions bearing on the constitution of tbe quarterly meeting, the desirability of the Methodist union, church rules, etc., were discussed _ and carried. Votes of thanks to the ministers of the Nelson circuit and the reception committee for the great assiduity and kindness which tbey had displayed in the arrangements for the Conference and the comfort of the representatives, to tbe ladies who waited at the dinner-tables, and the friends who displayed such unbounded hospitality in entertaining the ministers, were carried, Votes of thaoks were ?lso presented to the Rev. Mr Williams, assistant secretary ; the Rev. Mr Cair, journal secretary ; the Rev. S. Bond, corresponding secretary; to the Rev's. Armitage, Farclouth, and Bond for reporting, and to tbe local press. The journal was then read and signed by the president and secretary. It was decided to hold the next Conference in 1882 in Christchurch. Thus closed ore of the most important and interesting Conferences held in New Zealand.
