THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS AT WELLINGTON.
(by telegraph.) Wellisgton, February 5. The cricket match, Australians v. Wellington, was started this morning. The weather was dull, with a fresh southerly breeze. Wellington won the toss, and elected to go in. Kennedy and Brown were the first to handle tbe wiilovv, to the bowling of Spofforth and Palmer, the former taking the first over, off which three were scored. When Brown had scored seven, he drove the ball back to Spofforth, which was accepted. Speed filled the vacancy, and Kennedy was given out leg before wicket.
