SCHOOL COMMITTE ELECTIONS.

The following results came to hand too late for our issue of yesterday :— WOODVILLE. Tbe statement of assets and liabilities was read as follows: —Assets; Books in hand, £17 12s 4d ; rent, 10s ; due by children for books, £4 14s 3d ; balance at bank, £16 16s lOd ; total, £39 3s sd. Liabilities: £15 9s; balance of assets over liabilities, £24 4s 5d ; total, £39 13s sd. Thirteen gentlemen were nominated. The balloting resulted in the following being elected :■— J. J. Murphy 44 T. Fountain 35 J. Lloyd 25 B. M'Neil 24 T. Moore 23 J. Hutchins 16 E. Walker 12 At the meeting of the committee held after the election Mr T. F. Fountain was elected chairman and Mr T. Moore secretary. It was resolved to nominate Mr Rechab Harding and Mr Dobson for election as members of the Education Board. ORMONDVILLE. The following gentlemen were elected. —Messrs Baines, Barnes, Shuga, Smith; Gundrie, and M'Knight. At the meeting of the committee Mr M'Knight was appointed chairman. HAVELOCK. The meeting was not largely attended. The following gentlemen were elected : —Messrs T. Tanner, J. C. Taylor, W. Couper, T. Gilpin, R. Bader, J. Cooper, and J. Muir. At the meeting of the committee Mr Gilpin was unanimously elected chairman. PUKETAPU. The meeting was fairly attended. The retiring Chairman, Mr W. Heslop, stated that the receipts during the year had been £24 55., including a balance of £7 55., brought forward from the previous year, and atter providing for expenditure a balance of £7 Os 5d remained in hand. The committee was then elected without opposition as follows:—W.Heilop

(re-elected Chairman), W. Elbourne, J. Bignell, S. Graham, W. Williams, W. Hughes, J. Heslop. nohsewood. The annual meeting of householders in the Norsewood district was held in the Bchool-room on Monday evening. There was a very fair attendance. Mr A. Levy occupied the chair, and read the report and balance-sheet of the past year. The following persons were elected a committee for the ensuing year : —Messrs Gribble, J. Pettersen, Bollstad, N. Hansen, Redward, A. Levy, and Rev. G. E. Sass.

The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the retiring committee. A meeting of the newly-elected Committee was held immediately afterwards, when Mr A. Levy was elected chairman. It was agreed to maintain the compulsory clauses in force, and the chairman was authorized to summon all defaulting parents. The chairman was also authorized to act on behalf of the Committee re alteration of boundaries between Ormondville and Norsewood school districts.
