[TO THE EBITOB OF THE DAILY TeLEGEAJPH.] Snt, —Referring to the Town Clerk's 'etter of yesterday re my remarks in yrur issue of Thursday, I did not mean to convey that coercion was brought to bear on the Town Clerk to change the date of the special meeting from Friday, the w 14th instant, to Thursday, the 15th, at 2.30 p.m. What I did mean was this : Some " gentle persuasion" was used by that be, to have the meeting on at 2.30 p.m., in order that Mr IV ''s vote might be taken before he .(- *he Chamber forever, which will a Thursday, the 13th, at 6 p.m. ar notice of motion in question was en and read to Councillors for Fri'he 14th, at 8 p.m., and as such • edbyboth newspapers.
