LONDON.

January 5

An official denial has been given to the report circulated yesterday that a torpedo had been found under tbe bow of H.M.S., Lord Warden in the Firth of Forth.

A fire broke out at the Liverpool docks to-day, but it was extinguished before any damage was done. It h?s since been discovered that the fire was caused by incendiaries, who had used petroleum with the evident intention of completely destroying the docks.
