THE TURKISH COMPLICATIONS. The rumours of difference of policy between Turkey and Egypt are denied. The rumours of a European conference have been dispelled. In the House of Commons Mr. Disraeli said all the Powers had agreed to exercise no undue pressure on the next Sultan, but allow time for his advisers to mal lire a new policy. In reply to a note of the C.rand Vi/ier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Scrvia has given an assurance of the peaceful intentions of Scrvia. It is considered that the recent events arc a decided check upon ltussian policy. On June IT), Lord Derby in the House of Lords said that the guarantees of the Treaty of Pans with regard to the integrity of Turkey remained unmodified, but that the clauses in the treaty only refer to the aggression upon Turkey from without, not to internal quarrels. Telegrams from Constantinople on June 20 ; report a disagreement amongst the Turkish Ministers on the subject of the creation of a National Assembly. An indefinite postponement of the Constitution is considered probable. Lord Northbf ook has been created a peer. Latest telegram despatches from the Continent state the outbreak of war between Turkey and Servia is imminent. The Duke of Edinburgh, in the ' Sultan,' has ai rived at M.ilta. The r< port of the Fugitive Slave Commission has been issued. It deprecates active interferencp on the part of commissioned ofliceis against slavery where legalised, or of H.M. ships being made an asylum for slaves. The report favours discretion being given to commanders, and defines general principles for their guidance, The Emperor William goes to Ems to meet the C/ar. There will probably be an interview between the (V.ar and the Emperor of Austin .it Wai saw. The JTord, a Russian organ~pnblislied in Belgium, contains an ai tide virulently attacking the policy of tingland. The Ascot Cup was won by Hornblow, and tho Gold Cup by Apology.
