THE REGATTA DISPUTE.
To the Editor : Sir.— We respectfully request you to publish our protest against the treatment of the regatta committee towards us. "W e are four brothers bi ought up in the province— have always taken an interest in boat racing ; and though not boat builders by trade, have built and pulled ov\r own bo.vts at the Auckland regatta these last six years. Our special complaint is that we came up from the Thames at soraa expense anil trouble to contest the race — that we entered and were at our post, but that owing to one of the crews declining to pull theie was no race — .and now the regatta committee will only allow the race to come off on our consenting to allow the crew just returned from Wellington to contest— we objecting on the ground of no entry. "We are *ure thia conduct will not encourage Thames people to come again, and that every lover of fair play will consider us badly treated, and we are also sure that at the forthcoming Thames regatta, the managers would scorn to treat any Auckland crew in such a manner as the Auckland committee have treated us. — Yours, &c, The Brothers Robinson.
