To the Editor : Sir, —In youi issue of yesterday thcic appears a paiagiaph, stating that one of the diiectois of the Tauua Gold Muung Company, Limited, threatens ciimiiul pioceednigs against the chah man, who is charged with thiposing of his bhaies under peculiai ciicum stances. With lefeienco to which, allow me to state that I challenge that dnector to substantiate any chaisje of my having done anything dishonouiable iu the mattei. The only pun I tar ciicumstancc attending the tiansaction being, my having sold that diiector shaies on 01 about the 1st August last, without demanding tasli at the time. — I am, kc. W. B.
