This is connected with the main building by a covered p.msage, shingled on the loof. It was at one time thought that the house itself would 1)0 demolished, but owing to the .strenuous exertions of those who rendered assistance, this calamity was happily averted j but to show the fiorconcss of the flames, it is stated that the whole of the side-wall was scorched and ehaiml. The out-houses destroyed were about 20 feet m length, by a breadth of nine feet. The file seems to have originated liom some live ashes caielcssly placed in the box, winch was built up against the wall of the outbuilding.
