The Domain, the t.jvourite resort of plea-sure-seckcrs .it the festive season of tho year, appeared in all its gloiy, having been selected by the Good Templars as tho trysting place for their uionstei demonstration. The brcth ren assembled b- tunes at the juuctiou of Grey and Queen -streets, the various loilge.8 being marshalled ia the order of procession by their respective oflicers. The following lodges were represented : — Pioneer, Star ot Nowton, Eden Terrace, Good .Samaritan, Ponsonby, Excelsior, Fiaternal Home, Harbinger of Pe.ico, Junction, Nowton Olive Branch, Union, Victoria, Neumai ket, and Good Intent. Preceded by the Templar Band, they matched up Shortland-stieet to the Domain, which was densely thronged with picmckeis, in giv holiday attire. The rallying point selected was tho open park-like expanse at the extremity of the grounds, where they join on to Brighton's gardens. Here several booths had been erected tor the purpose of supplying creature comforts to the hungry and thirsty Templais, but they, wise in their generation, remembered that on a previous annual festival the supply of provender wjs tot illy inadequate to the demand, brought then own viands, which they supplemented with tea liberally supplied by Mr. Brighton and other caterers. Financially tho spec.ilation of Mr. William Gledhill, tho principal providore, w.ii a fulur , from tho perishable nature of undispostd of stock, and the same fate befell Mr. Brighton. During the day the number of people assembled in the gardens ot the Acohinatibation Society, as well as tho Dotn.uii, Oicket Ground, Masons and Brighton Gardei,s cou i uot have been Ids than from 8,000 to 4,000. The sports and games uiual on such festive occasions were fieely iudulg'd in during tho day by the young people, thegloiious weather enhancing .ind intensifying their enjoyment, while the elders occasionally gave v< nt to their satisfaction by making speeches, their bin then being the excellence of Good Tcmplnry principles and the ultimate triumph ot the cause
