Hoiurt Tows.—The Mercury of tho 30th December reports :—"la the breadstuff's market business is quiet, with very little but purely local demand. Wheat has shown a slight downward tondency,but it has revived, and to-day a good parcel changed bands at 5s 10J; quotations range from 53 8d to 5s lOd. Tlie crop, though not bo largo as last year, will be nn average one, aud almost bettor than might have been expeotod, considering the adverse weather. In the North the appearance of the crops is veiy encouraging, and wo are likely to have a very full supply. Flour here is selling at from £12 10a to £13, according to quality. Sharps arc selling at £7. Bran remains at from Is to Is Id per bushel. Oats are well supplied ; we quote from3s Gil for medium to 3a 9d for boat. New hay is not coming in so freely, and ifc is now soiling from £3 10s to £4 per ton. Old hay is fully supplied, and is Bulling at about £3 10s, best will bring up to £4, but there is not a great deal in the market. Hydraulic pressed continues (f.o.b.) at up to £4 10s, but there is little demand for export. In . farm produce, there is but little alteration. Potatoes (old) are still plentiful, and prices aro nominal. Tho stocks on hand aro a drug. Best bring from 30a to £2. Potatoes (new) find leady sale at from 3s Gd to 5s per cwt. retail. The timber trade is quiet, and there is no alteration in prices. The wholesale prices from the boats are : —Sawn timber and battens, 6s to 6s 6d per 100ft.; 10ft. cart shafts, 2s to 2s (Jd per pair; 16ft. ditto, 4s 6d to 53 per pair; shingles, 8s to 9a per 1,000j box palings, 5fb,, ja 6d to 8s por 100; 6ft. ditto, 8s to 93 6d per 100 j laths, 3ft. and 3ft. 6in., 6s to 7a per 1,000; deals, 5d to 64d per foot. Launcestok.—The Cromwell *Ohronicle of the 29th December reports : —" Quotations remain unohanged : Flour at'£12 to £12 JOs per ton; wheat, 5s totfJk 3d per bushel; oats, 3s 3d to 3s 4d per bushel for feed, and' milling 3s 6d to 3s 9d : English barley not in demand, best parcels 53 6d por bushel; Cape barley, unsalable, nominal price 3a to 3s 6d per bushel; peas, 3s 6d to 4s per bushel; coarse sharps, £5; fine ditto, £6 10s per ton ; bran, very scare at £5 per tou without bags ; pollard, £5 10a per tou ; oatmeal is still quoted at 28s to 30s per cwt., aooording to package. Hay is in good supply at £3 per ton.
