The a. 8. .Southern Cross, for Tauranga, took her departure last evening with a number of passengers, and a general cargo. The schooner Excelsior sailed eaily yesterd»j morning for Dunedic via Whangapoua It was decided yesterday by the owners of the ship Polar Star to change the name of the vessel to the Result. By this name she will, therefore, for the future be known. The ketch Pearl cleared outwards for Rmsell, yesterday, in ballast The schooner ivanhoo will sail for Dunedin, vi,1 Whangapoua, to-day. At tho Utter port the Ivanhoo will tako m a cargo of timber for Dunedin. The p. s. Comerang took her doparture for Isapier, vi.1 Qisborne, last evening, with an unusually large car^o of iron, machinery, and general merchandise. The ketch Throe Bi others, from Napier, arrived in harbour yesterday, brimming a cargo of sixty-two balos flax for Messrs. .J. Roberton and Co. The schooner Golden Isle, from Russell, brings a cargo of 118 tons coal. The cutter Sovereign of the Seaa, from Whangarei, arrived in harbour yesteiday, bringing a full caigo of settlers' produce and several passengers. The barque Zanga was hauled alongside the Queen-stieet Wharf yesterday. She will commence to discharge her cargo to day The schooner Clio hauled alongside the Wood Wharf yesterday. She will commence to discharge her cargo of grain from Lytt< Iton to-day.
