THE DUPLICITY OF TAWHIAO. KINGITES WANT TO FIGHT FOR THE EUROPEANS. PURUKUTU AT TOKANGAMUTU. HE PROCEEDS TO TE KUITI. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Alexandra, Wednesday, 4 p.m. It is reported that Puruicutu, acting undez Tawhiao'a instructions, refuses going to Kuiti, and that Tawhiao, on first hearing of Sullivan's murder, aent him word to keep the eril at his own place, not bring it to Kuiti. Purakutu therefore declines going there to attend the meeting. A great many applications have been made to me by professed Kingites to know, in the erent of war, if their services would be accepted by Goyernment. 4.10 pro. Hapi Whitipatato has succeeded in bringing Purukutu to Tokangamutu. The latter arrived at Otewa, a place 12 miles from Tokangamutu, with about T>0 people, including women and children. Purukutu will arrive at Te Kuiti to-day.
