LtfNDON V. W^KOARI KiKATI. — Mr Hesketh for the plaintiff, and Mr. Jamca Russell for the defeudaut. This caae was beard last Court-day. It was an action to recover the snm of £90 13a. 6d. for horses, &c, and arose out of a complication of transaction! between the parties. A short time ago Makoari sued Lundon fov expenses in attending in an arbitration case aa his witness. Lundon, in defending the action, pleaded a set-off, tho particulars of which are included in the present claim. Last Court-day, Mr. Russell submitted that, the plaintiff having mado oertain admissions with regard to tho amount claimed, it brought the oase outside the jurisdiction of the Court— His Honor was of opinion that the case was not within tho jurisdiction of the Court, DtrcKBNF/ELD v. Sydi-e.— 'Claim, £30. Mr. Brookfleld appeared for the plaintiff, who deposed that the money was due on a promissory note, —Judgment for the amount and interest. PHILLTPS V. THE LtTCKY DIGGERS* GOLDmining Company.— The plaintiff ia a creditor of the company to the amount of £27 18s. 10d., and Mr. J. B. Eussell applied on his behalf for a winding-up order, which was granted. Hill Brothers v. Layers.— Mr. J. B. Rusiell for the plaintiffs, and Mr. Brookfield for the defendant. This was an action to recover the sum of £27 17s., the value of goods alleged to be wrongfully detained by the defendant. — His Honor suggested that the case was one which from its nature could better be settled by arbitration j and it was referred to Mr. Armstrong, the award to be made next Court-day. Copland v. Fletcher axd CKley. — Mr. Brookfield for the plaintiff, and Mr. Hesketh for the defendants. This was a claim for £46 13s. 9d., money alleged to have been paid by the plaintiff on behalf of the Auckland Eowing Club, of which he was at the time a member. — .His Honor recommended the parties to settle the matter out of Court, and the case was adjourned for a month with that object. — This was all the business, and the Court adjourned.
