HOSPITAL MEETING
A splcjtal meeting of the Committee of the Coromandel Hospital was held at the Budge Hotel, Corom ancle], on Monday (\cmns!. Major Keddell, II Rl., presiding. The other members in attendance were — Rev. Thomas Scott, Rev. V. O'Keilly, Mcssis. F. Woollams, 11. Kelly, Douglas, Ciump, and Glovor. Correspondence from various distucts was read, also the medical officer's ltpoit for tho past year. The several accounts read Ly the Chairman were oidered to to paid ; after which the real business for winch tho special meeting had been called was taken into consideration. — A discussion eiipucd about hospital accommodation, Mr. Woollams intimating that he could not much longer allow the piesent hospital building to bo used for hospitxl putpuses, as he required it for other pui poses. It had been occupied for ovei six months, and he considered ifc was hi»h time the Government did something to place the picsent Government ollices in the committee's bands foi hospital purposes. — Messrs. Douglas, Glover, and others took part in the discussion, and on the motion of Mr. Dotigl <f>, seconded by Mr. Glover, it was unanimously resolved : — " '1 hat tho Provincial Government be written to, informing it ot Mr Woollams's intention, and requesting that provision might at once be made foi handing over tho building promised by Mr. Sheeban when the arrangement was first entered into about six months ago." — Dr. Novell's occasional absence from the district was taken into consideration, and a resolution agieed to, requesting the secretary to dia'v Dr. I [ovell'a special attention to rule 19 of the hospital constitution, which relates to the absence of the Resident Surgeon.— [Conespondent. j
