Tenders.
NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENI ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.
TENDERS are Invited for the supply and delivery of 800 TELiaium Polks, more or less, for a Line of Telegraph between Auckland and Etipara. The Poles to be sawn from Heart of Kauri, perfeoUy sound, straight, free from loose knots, shakes, and Any Pole containing the least sap will be rejected. The majority of the Poles are required to be 20 feet long, 6 inches squate at the top, and 8 inches square at the butt. A few will be required of the following increased dimensions :— 25 feet long, 6 inohes square at top, 8 inches squar t^butt. The Poles required for the section between Auokland and Riverhead to be delivered at pegs Along the route of the proposed Line. The Poles for the section between Riverhead and Helensville to be delivered in two lots, at Riverhead and Helensville, and stacked as directed by the Telegraph Commissioner or his delegate. Tenders are to contain price per pole as per- sizes gWen. The whole of the poles to be delivered three months after acceptance of tender, under a penalty of £5 for each and every day the contract is not completed after that date. Each Tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £25 as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any competitor refuse to sign tht contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each Tender must include the names of two sureties for approval who are willing to becomo bond for the duo performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the pro- [ posed sureties. - Further information can be obtained at tbe Telegraph Office, Auckland, on application to Mr. Sheath, District Inspector.
