ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMON SCHOOL AT PANMURE.

A meeting was held at the Ferry Hotel, Panmuro, on Friday, sfch insfc., Mr. Quinl&n in tho chair. Mr. O'Sullivan, being called on "by tho chairman, explained the Object for •which the meeting had been called, which was to consider tho advisability of establishing a common sohool for the district. On tho supposition that the Central Board of Education will support but one common Bchool, the llev. Father Fynes proposed, seconded by Mr. McNamara, "That the Chairman put the question to the meeting whether a common school is desired." Upon this question being put, the proposal to establish a oomtnon school was negatived unanimously. — Mr. Goold proposed, and Mr James Hogau seconded, "That this meeting respectfully requests the Central Board of Education to aid existing educational efforts in the district, in accordance with clause 40 of the Common Schools Act, 1869." Carried unauimoualy, — Mr. Goold made a few remarks in support of his proposition, and stated that were all the children in the district to attend one common school it would requiro^two masters to instruct them, and therefore considered it advisable to give aid to two schools with one teacher in each. — Mr. Goold proposed a vote of thanks to the chairman, which was carried.—[Correspon^BJ
