POLICE COURT. - Saturday. [Before T. Beckham, Esq., R.M.]
Drunkenness. — Three inebriates were punished in the usual manner for this offeuce.
Breach of Vagrant Act. — Maria Randall was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour for having hobo, convicted three times within twelvemonths for drunkenness, besides having been previously convicted of vagrancy.
Larceny. — William Morris Emery was charged by William Hodgson with having stolen a boat, his property, from Kocky Bay, Waiheke, valued at £3. Prisoner pleaded not guilty. As Sergeant Pardy was making application for the adjournment of the case until Thursday next for the production of witnesses, tha prisoner said that he had only taken the boa*, to "go across to Howick to t;efc tucker."— Hi3 YVorship stated that, if such wore the c<i3e, it would hot imonnt to larceny. — Sergeaufc Pardy said, that such was not the case. He believed the prisoner wa9 »oiug to leave the country. The prisoner told the police that ha had left the boat at Howick: but it was not found there. —The caao was adjourned till Thursday.
