THE PREPARATORY SCHOOL: HALF-YEARLY EXHIBITION.
The half-yearly examination of the scholars attending Mr. R. J. Morre9sy's Preparatory School, Hobson-strcor, took pl.ice on the 22nd. A large number of tlie parents of the pupils were piesent. The following are the names of the scholars who were auccessiul in obtaining prizes :— First Olasg : English, prize for composition, grammar, spelling, dictation, and arithmetic, S. Edmonds ; 2nd prize, elocution, including recitation and poetry, 15. Hill ; 3i\l prize, geography, resulted in a tie between Masters Shove and if. Mason ; 4th prize, hiatory, resulted in a tie between Masters Shovo and W. Joynt; sth prize, writing, including prize e3say and theme, J. Adnam. Second Class : Ist prize, English, includiug elocution, poetry, composition, j dictation, and arithmetic, Master H. Ed- ' monds ; 2nd pi ize, geography, tie between F. Quick and H. Edmonds ; 3rd prize, hiatory, 11. Edmonds; 4th prize, writing and. esaay, F. Quick. Third. Class : English pii/.o: after a severe contest between H. Guffiths, J. Edmonds, and J. Mason, the examiner decided in favour of the latter.
