COROMANDEL REPORTS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — In the OROsq of the 10th instant a report is published oa the Coromandel Goldfields, supplied by Messrs. A. D. McTavish and Co., in which there are several statements of a character calculated to mislead th« public, as well as to hayo " a very injurious effect upon the interests of the field," which thoy seem so pathetically to deplore at the conclusion of the report. The first I may allude to is the notice in reference to the Bank of Tokatea. It i 3 stated they "arc diiving on a mass of leaders and quartz, and expect every day to get iuto abettor country." So far from this statement being correct, tho clai/n at tho present time is actually protected ! Again, "Tho Golden Pah are still driving for the reef," when it is well known they are getting gold. It further remarked that " the Neptune have live tons at the mill, which looks well for loz." The fact is, they crushed three tons, which gave 2oz. I could point out further discrepancies in the report, but will content ray self by leraavking on the bad taste of the legal managers of Beveral companies thus commenting in a weekly report on mining interests in which they may be themselves interested or otherwise. — I am, &c, A Miner.
