THE SHAREMARKET.

Mr. J. M. Lennox reports :— " There waa an improvement in the share market to-day. Caledonian snares sold at advanced rates. My sales comprise — Caledonian, £115 to £122 10a, and £120; Thames, £23 to £24; Tokatea, 82a 6d. Closing sellers : Caledonian, £120 ; Thames, 24 ; Tokatea, 82s 6(1 ; All Nations, £5 5s. Closing buyers : Caledonian, £117 10s ; Thames, £23." Messrs. Swete, Scott, and Co. report :— " Caledonian fluctuated a good deal to-day - £115, £122 10s, £125, and £120 ; closing firm at latter price with few sellers. Thames, £24 ; All Nations, £5 5s ; Tokatea, 82s 6d ; Pride of Tokatea, 3s 4d ; Conquering Hero, 2s: Standardised."

Monthly Report. Mr. J. M. Lennox repoita : -"Thesharemarket was subject to considerable fluctuations during the month. In Caledonian stock there was quite a panic : shares sold as low as £95 ; contidouce is now somewhat restored. Shares changed hands this morning at £127 10s. In consequence of a rumoured amalgamation with the Nonpareil, Waitemata shares rose from 10s to 21s, but receded to 14s. Otago shares advanced from 603 to 85s, in consequence of gold being struck near the Caledonian boundary. The advance was not sustained: there are now sellers at G2s 6d. Shotovers also advanced to 2ls; there are now sellers at 129. Closing buyers—Caledonian, £120 ; Thames, £23 ; Tookey, £28 j Otago, 603 ; AH Nations, £5 ; Tokatea (Coromandel), 80s. Closing sellers—Caledonians, £122 10s; Thames, £24; All Nations, £5 5s ; Waitemata, 14a ; Sbiofcover, 12s ; Tokatea, 82s 6d j^ookey, £29."
