KAIPARA: PURCHASE OF NATIVE LANDS.
Mr. Joiix Siikehan, member of the Pro viucial Executive, returned from Kaipara on Saturday, having been successful in procuring the consent of the native owners to sell a large block of valuable land near the north terminus of the Kaipara railway, at a price very much below what is now being paid by property speculators. The block contains a very large percentage of really first-class land, on which sotfcler3 have a chance of making a living. On the cem« pletion of the railway ifc will bo within two hours' rail and sfceam distance from tho capital, and produce cau be as readily sent into the market <ia from Ocahnhu or East Tamaki. It would be a good thing for tho district if the land was thrown open to bomt lide settlers under the Act of IS7O.
