Caledonian. — One of the plumber blocks of the engine shaft gave way, and brought pumpiug to a standstill during the night. It has been resumed. Nonpareil has retorted, with a result of 1,4300z. of gold. Good stone was this morning taken out of the mine towards the Italian.

Leasehold property in. Davy-street, fourteen years to ran, 12s. per foot. Albert-street, one allotment, fourteen years to run, £85. Martha-street, freehold, from 40s. to 465. per foot. ,
8.30 p.m. Schofield's party of Inverness tributers have obtained exceedingly rich specimens this afternoon. Business in the sharemarket ig very dull. Caledonian shares are quoted at £120 to £125 ; Thames, £24 ; All Nations, firm at £6 ; Nonpareil, £6 10s. to £6 15s. cum div.; Inverness, £1 Is.; Bhotover, 125.; Bright Smile, £2 3s. to £2 ss. ; Oriental, Bs.; Smiling Beauty, 6s. to 6s. 3d.
