POLICE COURT.— Thursday. [Before T. Beckham, Esq., R. M.]

Drunkenness. — P. Burnei, J. Ferguson, J. Ryan, and J. Leonard for this offence were each fined in the usual manner. Vagrancy. — Eliza L'Estrange, for a breach of the Vagrant Act, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labour. — Alice Taylor for a similar offtncs was fined 405., or in default to undergo one month's imprisonment. Larceny.— John Wilson was charged with stealing a piece of timber from the yard of George Holdship. Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to three months' imprison* ment with hard labour. Breach op Municipal Police Act.— John Wilson was charged with allowing a cow to stray at large, and was fined ss. and costs. — Douglas Duff was okarged with not keeping his right side of the road whilst driving his cab. The Bench discharged the defendant with a caution.
