VOLUNTEER INTELLI GENCE .
The monthly inspection meeting of the Thames Naval Brigade was held last evening ' at the Drill-shed, Grahamstown. There was a good attendance, including Captain Best and officers. Owing to the absence of Major Cooper in Auckland, the men were inspected and exercised by Drill-Instructor Grant. The Thames Naval Brigade will soon be one of the strongest (numerically) corps in the province. At a meeting held a short time since it was found necessary to order 20 more uniforms to clothe the, new members who joined the corps. The number on the books is now 88. The corps is in an admirable state of efficiency. — [Correspondent.] The Rifle Volunteers who have been detailed to take part in the guard of honour in Auckland on the departure of his Excellency the Governor will parade at 11 o'clock on Tuesday morning, at the Albert Barracks ; and the Navals, &c, at Port Britomart. The monthly meeting of the members of the Auckland Institute will take place on Monday evening, at half-past 7 o'clock, when various papers will be read by different gentlemen.
