STOPPAGE OF THE TAURANGA MAIL. GRAHAMSTOWN, 8.30 p.m.
The Evening Mail announces the sfcopjjagc of the Tarn anga mail. Yesterday's mailman, with the Southern mails, was stopped, stripped, ami scarcbed,but the moils escaped, being secreted in the saddle lining. Tkenpiilman was compelled to return to Ohinemuii. Detached parties were pos>tcd along the road, so that escape was impossible. Te Hira seems to be cianky. Ho stripped himself and tried to spear tho mailman's horse. Two boxes of specimens muig taken out of the Nonpareil to-day. Rich stone was taken from the Junction this afternoon. The All Nations No. 1 stope is through a shot of gold not very wide. Three hundred and sixty pounds of specimens arc in hand. Scrip closed at £7. Captain Skene has been elected Chairman of the Stock Exchange, Mr. A. Philips Secretarj r .
