True to the promise made to his Honor the Chief Justice by the prisoner James Dunn, just before receiving Ins sentence, during the afternoon of the same day ho furnished .Sergeant Jeffery with minute particulars respecting a large amount of property which had been stolen at different times, and from different persons. During Wednesday ovening and yesterday forenoou, Jeffery, acting upon the information given, succeeded in recovering over £20 worth of jewellery, consisting of two gold watches, a gold watchguard, a silver watch chain, gold seals, gold keys, &c, besides a large bundle of valuable papers, ihe property of Mr. Hudson, valued at several hundreds of pounds, consisting of a life policy, deeds of property, agreements, <fee. There wore several otherrobberie3 that Dunn had been engaged iv, but from his manner the police believe that others were concerned with him, and about the disposal of the propsrfcy from them he would tell nothing. However, while niakiug partially a clean breasb of it, ho remarked that Dunn was an assumed name, and that Brislem was the name he had served under fol*f 01* five years in the Irish Constabulary before joining the army, from which he was a deserter at the time of his capture. We hope that C iptain Eyre will keep a secure hold of such a notorious scoundrel.
