The export of some of the articles enumerated had so seriously fallen off last October that the trade iti them appears to be on the point of utter extinction. This is the case with alkali, s>teel and iron tools, copper and tin goody, seed oil, and carpets. The articles enumerated under cotton aie reduced to onetenth of their former quantity ; linen goods ta tag ilian one-twelfth • 33,000d01. The shipments of wrought and unwroughfc iron and steel arounder onp-tcnthof the quantity sent across the Channel in October, 1809. Woollen and worsted cloths of all kinds lm c very j slightly diminished, and woollen shawls, ! rugM, coverlets, and wiappers have largely increased ; the export last month was 5,504 against 805 in 1809.
