To tho Editor of # the Daily Southern Cross. Sir, — In your issue of yesterday, you publish a letter from " Oratorio," complaining of the arrangement of the Choral Society for the performance of the " Messiah," on Friday evening, instead of Christmas Eve, I cannot but agree that the latter evening would be the beat if it suited fall parties. But "Oratorio" forgets that many of the performing members as well as subscribers are engaged in trade; and as Christmas Eve, of all days in the year, would be the most inconvenient for Imyself or any of my employes to attend, I the present a most considerate and desirable arrangement. I have been upwards of twelve years in Auckland, and until last year had not an opportunity of hearing our Choral Society perform this most beautiful of oratorios. — I am, &c, . Subscriber,
