MINING. Eubeka.—The amalgam, 970z., was'retorted this morning, and gave the surprising result of nearly oue-half gold, the retvirn being 440z. 14d\vt. This reflects great credit on Mr. O'Callaghan, the manager of Goodall's machine.
T\VENTY-THIR» OP JUNE, MADMAN'S Gully.— A goodly parcel of some 40 tons of stone from this mine is to be crushed early next week at the machine.
Tramway Una Company.—A cleaning up took place to-day, at the company's Machine, after a fortnight's crushing. The return of gold was Xl7oz. 9dwt. melted.
Golden Crown.—The usual weekly cleaning up to-day resulted in 4310z. 4dwt. melted gold.
Alburnia.—37oz. 7dwt. 12gr. of melted gold were lodged at the Bank of New Zea3and to-day, to the credit of this
company. Clyde and Tyne.—The late crushing of stone gave above .^oz. to the ton. The tributera intend to try another parcel at another machine.
North Devon.—Some first-rate stone waa struck in the new workings yesterday afternoon.
Moanataiari Company.—A marked improvement in the quality of the stone getting is perceptible in every part of this mine. A good current fortnight's yield may be antici. pated.
