PANMURE BRIDGE

TOLLS.; A deputation, consisting of Messrs. Mac lean, Kerr, and Freer, members of the Provincial Council, waited upon the Superintendent and Executive Council last Saturday to request the Government to reduce the tolls leviable at the Tamaki Bridge to the rate of other turnpike tolls in the province, or (as an alternative) to restrict nexb year's lease of these tolls to a period of three months, in order to allow of the question being fully discussed and adjusted. In the course of the interview attention was directed by Captain Freer to a resolution passed by the Council to the effect that these tolls ought to be equalised. His Honor 2>romised the deputation that he would consider the subject. -By a Gazette published on Saturday afternoon we observe that the Superintendent has reduced the tolls from the commencement of the new year to the same scale as the Newmarket and other tolls.
