November 3. At the quarterly cattle aale, held last week ab Ohaupo, there was a large muster of cattle, but prices ruled low, and only a few lots changed hands, owing no doubt to the scarcity of feed. The Ohaupo Hotel Sale Yards and 60 acres has been sold privately for a sum of £450 cash, the purchaser being Mr. .Fitzgerald. Mr. Orum, the late proprietor, is about to return to Denmark. — The District School Committee have erected a commodious schoolroom at Ohaupo, adjacent to the redoubt ; Mrs. Kusab being the teacher. -Mr. Joseph Pennington has disposed of the hotel property in Hamilton to Mr. Thomas Farrell for £750, comprising the Hamilton Hotel and Hall adjoining, together with the late handsome residence of Colonel Moule. — lam glad to say that the example of Mr. Quick has been followed by the Waikato Steam Navigation Company (Limited) of contributing a cap for the ensuing meet of the" Waikato Jockey Club.— The OBrien | Troupe have been performing at the Hamilton HaU on Saturday and Monday to crowded houses. — Mr. Campbell, of Poverty Bay, has commenced business as a storekeeper, &c, in the premises of Owen and Graham, next the Post-office. Mr. Joseph has also built a handsome store facing the landing. There are now four well-stocked stores, three bakers, two hotels, and a chemist and druggist in business at this place. They all seem to be doing a good trade, not forgetting three butchers and two blacksmiths.

Helen Eckert, well known as the fat girl of Easton, Pa., died lately. She was 18 yeara of age, and at the time of her death weighed 5001b.
