Garlick (secretary)- —1 ac minutes of the preceding »*«*«* were read atlrf confirmed, and the correspondence was a% read. -The manager of Grevilles New Mawi branch then entered into an explanation of the proposals, A lengthy discussion ensued, sad ultima eiy the committee promised to urg© upon the Chamber the advantages of 'he propoße* commercial room, and the desirability o£ <hft Chamber giving the proposal their hearty support. At the same time it was pointed out that the limited means at the disposal of the Chamber prevented its affording pecuniary support from its funds.— A letter was read during the proceeding, from Mr. Abbott, of the Waitemata Hotel, in which that gentleman very liberally offered to place a well-furnished room, advantageously situ* •ated, at the disposal of the Chamber, as a comrapicial room. The committee will re* port on this and other matters at the next monthly mcc ing.
