Drunkenness. — Margaret Conway, John Mtzsymonds, and John Martin were dealt with for drunkenness.

was ordereu cv pay £ l, or De imprisoned 48 hours, with hard labour.
Breach of the Mttnicipali Police Act, 1866. — W. J. Messenger, charged with a breach, of the Municipal Police Act (15th sub-section of section 5) by having a ahelf along the front of his shop, which projected over the footpath, pleaded guilty, and was ordered to pay the mitigated fine of £1 and costs, the full penalty provided by the clause cited being £10,
Breach of th£ Impounding Act, 1867. —James Linsey pleaded gfcilty to a breach of this Act, by fastening a horse in Victoriastreet East, offßarrackhill, on Sunday last, —fined 20s. and costs.
Breach op the Dangerous Goods' 1 Act, 1809. — Joseph Eeilly (Inspector of W eights and Measures) charged Mr. Samuel BroV'a with a breach of the 6th clause of the" Dangerous Goods Act, 1869, by having stored, in a house off Chancery-lane, 24 tins of kerosine, on the 13th June, contrary to the provisions of the Act.— Mr. Brown pleaded guilty, stating that he was not awaie of the provisions of the Act.— Mr. Wynu, who appeared for the prosecution, said, as Mr. Brown had pleaded ignorance of the provisions, arid this being the first case, the authorities weie quite willing that merely a nominal fine should be imposed, in order that the public might be aware of the intention on the part of the authorities to take active steDS in the matter.— The Bench imposed a nominal fine of £1 and costs, and added that the Act compelled them to order that the kerosine should be forfeited. This concluded the business.
